Edeka Schmidt's market XL relies on Viessmann's refrigeration solutions

At Edeka Schmidt's XL market in Bad Säckingen, Viessmann cooling solutions ensure perfect freshness - a shopping experience with "wow"

The new Schmidt's market XL of the Edeka Group Südwest in Bad Säckingen with 3,000 square meters of sales area opened in January this year and relies on innovative refrigeration solutions from Viessmann.

Martin Schmidt, one of the three managing directors of Schmidt's markets, became aware of Viessmann at Euroshop 2017, and he quickly followed up with some further planning discussions. For the Edeka Group Südwest, it’s the first major project with Viessmann Kühlsysteme GmbH.

Finally, a total of 35 efficient refrigerated cabinets with a total length of more than 100 meters were installed in Edeka Schmidt's market XL. Three sections of the new and space-saving TectoDeck MD5 refrigerated multideck keep dairy products fresh. Three further individual displays in the self-service area for fish, sausage and drinks, maintain the products at optimal temperature to keep them fresh and maintain quality. At a length of 16.25 meters, the TectoDeck MD3 e-Visio refrigerated multideck ensures perfectly refrigerated vegetables and convenience foods as well as cheese and sausage products that customers can serve themselves to. Furthermore, four sections of the TectoFreeze VF1 Luxo freezer provide ideal frozen food over a length of over 40 meters in total.

In addition, two flexible impulse islands TectoPromo IS1 Norwell for chilled and frozen products were installed at Edeka Schmidt's XL in Bad Säckingen.

Our new store with the market hall concept is very well received by customers. The market hall feeling should not stop in the chill and freezer department, but consistently be present throughout the entire market. That's why it was particularly important for us when choosing refrigerated and freezer cabinets that we could show a great variety of goods on a small footprint. This creates more space in the market and thus supports the market hall character.
